Sending Smiles Across the Miles for Whimsy Stamps

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Welcome friends. My card today features a couple of fun stamp sets from Whimsy Stamps. I started by doing some ink blending on my background with Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron Distress inks.

I then took the  Criss Cross Flowers stamp set from Whimsy Stamps and stamped it using my Misti so I could get a great impression. I then die cut this panel with the Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle dies from Whimsy Stamps.  I then took a small piece of card stock and added some of the Wilted Violet distress ink onto it and then stamped a sentiment from the recently released Distant Friends set.

I also finished off the inside with another sentiment from the Distant Friends set and the cute heart image.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

DT Projects for TupeloDesignsLLC - 3 Lily Cards

Tuesday, March 28, 2017

Welcome friends. I have three cards to share with you today for TupeloDesignsLLC and they all use the gorgeous Lily stamp set from Concord & 9th. Each of the cards also has the same stamped sentiment from the Lily set. After each card was complete, I went over each of the flowers with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

I wanted a quick way to color the flower in so I cut a mask out of some Inkadinkado masking paper. I stamped the large flower image and then laid down the negative portion of my mask. This made it super easy to blend in some Distress inks.

On the first card, I blended in Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar. I also cut the panel down a bit, added some MFT Black & White Basics paper pack and then I popped up the card panel with some foam tape.

For the second card, I used Wilted Violet and Spun Sugar.

For the last card, I used Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean. On this card, I also stamped the inside portion of the flower in some dark blue ink.

Thanks so much for visiting today and for your lovely comments - they mean the world. Crafty hugs!

DT Projects for TupeloDesignsLLC - 3 cards with Concord & 9th

Saturday, March 25, 2017

Happy Saturday friends. I had to pull out Concord & 9th's Butterfly Beauty set again and I have three cards to share with you today using that set for TupeloDesignsLLC. If you didn't see the first card I made with it, click here.

For my first card, I started by doing some ink blending with some Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. I used my Clarity Brushes to do this. I then added some water droplets to my card. I then stamped the various layers of the butterfly from the Butterfly Beauty set three times onto my card.  I cut down my panel a bit, added some MFT Black & White paper pack onto the side of the card base and then added my focal panel with some foam tape. Lastly, I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops.

My next two cards are the same except for the colors I used. For both cards, I played around with my new Distress Oxide inks. TupeloDesignsLLC just got a large shipment of these inks in and as of right now, most are still in stock and they are on SALE! Click here to see all the Distress Oxide inks.

For this card, I used Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint and Fossilized Amber. I applied the ink pads directly to my card panel for lots of color. I then sprayed the panel with lots of water to blend the colors a bit. I dried it with my heat gun and then spritzed some water droplets onto the panel using my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer.

I then stamped the butterfly and the sentiment from the Butterfly Beauty set and added some Honey Gold Nuvo Drops.

For my last card, I used Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber. The rest of the was made using the same instructions above.

CFC170 -- No Dies Allowed

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Happy Friday friends. I'm so happy you joined me here today. There's a new challenge up at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and this time, the challenge is No Dies Allowed.

I started by heat embossing several of the images from the Bring on the Snowflakes stamp set onto some black card stock with gold embossing powder. I love the way the gold pops off the black. I then heat embossed the sentiment from the Snowflake Greetings stamp set and added it over some gold foil card stock.

This isn't your typical Christmas card but I love how striking it is - and I have one more card done for my 2017 stash.

I hope you'll join us for this challenge where you can win up to $50 to shop at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Thanks for stopping by. Crafty hugs!

Shine Bright for Whimsy Stamps - A birthday Shaker Card

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Hi friends. I have a fun birthday shaker card to share with you today for Whimsy Stamps. I am using the super fun Shine Bright stamp set that was released just last week. I'm also using the Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die.

I started out by die cutting the Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die and I first focused on the interior piece. I added some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse with a round foam applicator tool all over the card stock in just a thin layer. It's hard to see here but in person, you can see the metallic shine. I then took some white pigment ink and stamped a couple of the star clusters found in the Shine Bright stamp set.  I then adhered this to my card base, making sure it was in the center.

It was then time to work on my frame and build it up. I die cut the Shaker Builder Sweetest Birthday die a few more times, probably about 5 in total from white card stock. I also die cut it once from some white fun foam. I adhered all the layers together.

I then took some acetate and using some white Staz-on ink, I stamped one of the sentiments from the Shine Bright stamp set directly onto the acetate. I just love the look of it stamped on the acetate and how you can see the sentiment even when the sequins are being shook around inside.

I added my acetate to my frame with some more adhesive and then added one more layer of the white die cut frame to cover the adhesive that was showing from my acetate.

I added lots of sequins and seed beads from Pretty Pink Posh onto the inside panel and then added the frame on top.

Thanks for stopping by today!
